The many learning advantages of iPads and learning resources are only advantages for the UAE this year if they apply to the Foundations/Bridge program students who will begin using iPads. Adult English language learners share characteristics with students who have risk factors for not completing an education program. At-risk learners are well-supported by e-learning environments, strategies and resources because known effective practices can be implemented quickly and broadly through the technology, including differentiating assignments, groupings and modes of learning in courses; connecting content to the roles students will have beyond their education programs; using mentors and individual interaction with students; and offering professional development to ensure teachers use effective teaching strategies in teaching (Repetto, Cavanaugh, Wayer & Liu, 2010).
